Abstract:

To ensure the service life of modern roads and driving safety, fast repairing damaged roads with high-performance repair materials is an efficient and environmentally friendly approach. In this paper, Portland cement and sulfur-aluminate cement were combined to form a compound cementitious system. Recycled tire rubber powder (RP) and dispersible latex powder were added simultaneously, and graphene oxide was further introduced to prepare a nanomaterials/polymer/rubber ternary modified cement-based composites (NPRM). The orthogonal optimization method was used to comprehensively and quantitatively analyze the various repair properties of NPRM. After conducting the analysis of variance, the optimal ratio of NPRM is determined. The flowability, final setting time, 28 d flexible/compressive strength ratio, 28 d flexural tensile bond strength, and 90 d drying shrinkage of NPRM with the optimal ratio are 194 mm, 115 min, 0.319, 5.35 MPa, and 93.57×10-6, whose comprehensive repair performances are superior to those of traditional repair mortar. Moreover, the incorporation of RP can significantly reduce the impact and noise generated by vehicle loads, hereafter achieves energy absorption and sound absorption effect when use NPRM to repair deteriorated urban roads.

Key words: road repair, recycled tire rubber, polymer modified mortar, nano-enhancing, bond strength, shrinkage performance, sound absorption performance
