Abstract:

To investigate the shrinkage performance and micro-pore structure evolution of sisal fiber-reinforced cement mortar under plateau low atmospheric pressure environments, this study simulated two curing pressure conditions: 57.6 and 95.0 kPa. Cement mortar specimens reinforced with sisal fibers of varying lengths (5, 10, 15, and 20 mm) were prepared. The shrinkage performance, splitting tensile strength, micro-pore structure, and fracture surface morphology were systematically evaluated. The results indicate that reducing the curing environment atmospheric pressure significantly increases the shrinkage rate, reduces the splitting tensile strength, and deteriorates the micro-pore structure of all specimen groups. Compared to the 95.0 kPa atmospheric pressure environment, specimens cured at 57.6 kPa exhibit 5.9% to 13.1% increase in shrinkage rate, 8.3% to 10.9% decrease in splitting tensile strength, and 14.9% to 21.9% increase in porosity, accompanied by pore coarsening. The incorporation of sisal fibers effectively inhibits the shrinkage of cement mortar and enhances its splitting tensile strength. Compared to plain mortar, the shrinkage rates of sisal fiber-reinforced cement mortar specimens decrease by 5.3% to 15.3% and 3.0% to 9.5% under 57.6 and 95.0 kPa, respectively. Meanwhile, the splitting tensile strength increases by 8.8% to 29.4% and 7.9% to 26.3%, respectively. Furthermore, the 10 mm sisal fibers demonstrate the optimal effect in inhibiting shrinkage and enhancing matrix strength, attributed to their excellent dispersion within the matrix and efficient stress transfer capability.
