Abstract: Diatomite and palygorskite porous ceramics were prepared from diatomite and palygorskite by sintering method .The structures and micrographs of specimens were characterized by X-ray diffraction ( XRD ) and scanning electron microscopy ( SEM ) . The ability of adsorption dye wastewater was measured by adsorptions of methylene blue from aqueous solution .The results of experiment show that diatomite/palygorskite porous ceramics was prepared from diatomite and palygorskite of mass ratio was 20∶80 and sintered at 850 ℃has optimal performance , it water adsorption was 41.12%, flexural strength was 2.76 MPa and shrink rate was 4.95%.Some porous structure of diatomite were retained , the phase of enstatite has been transformed from palygorskite .The phenomenons of adsorption experiment show that sample had better adsorption effect of methylene blue solution and adsorbed amount was 3.634 mg/g.
