Research on Preparation of Sulphoaluminate Cement Clinker by Desulphogypsum

Abstract: An experimental research on the preparation of sulphoaluminate cement clinker with desulphogypsum instead of natural gypsum has been performed.The results show that the burden ratio of raw materials is m(bauxite)∶ m(limestone)∶ m(desulphogypsum)=35∶ 43∶ 22, the best calcination temperature was determined of 1400 ℃. Under the process conditions, qualified sulphoaluminate cement clinker can be produced and main mineral composition of cement clinker are calcium sulphoaluminate and dicalcium silicate. Effects of calcination temperature on clinkering process was explored by observing appearance characteristics and by the means of XRD and SEM. At 1300 ℃,the clinker is underburnt with loose structure, lower strength and the main crystal phase of C_4A_3 ,β-C_2S and 2C_2~-S·CaSO_4; at 1400 ℃, it is normal and qualified clinker with tight structure, higher strength and the main crystal phase of C_4A_3 ,β-C_2~-S and C_4AF; at 1500 ℃, it is overburnt clinker with excessive liquid, harder bulk and the main crystal phase of C_4A_3 , β-C_2~-S, C_12A_7and CT.
