Abstract: Magnetic halloysite composite was synthesized by chemical co-precipitation method. The adsorption performance for magnetic halloysite composite was synthesized by static experimental method. The adsorption performance for methylene blue was investigated by static experimental method. The adsorbent was characterized by Fourier transfer infrared ( FT-IR ) , Transmission Electron Microscope ( TEM) , X-Ray Diffractome ( XRD ) and vibrating sample magnetometer ( VSM ) . Batch adsorption experiments were conducted to study the influence of various factors, such as HNTs/FeCl3 ·6H2 O mass ratio, adsorbent dose, initial concentration of methylene blue, initial pH, contact time on the adsorption of methylene blue. At the same time, the adsorption kinetics was investigated. The results indicate that magnetic halloysite composite is successfully obtained. The adsorption of magnetic halloysite for methylene blue is strongly affected by initial pH. The adsorption behavior is fitted well to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model.
