Abstract: MgO·(Al, Cr)2O3 spinel was synthesized from active magnesia and chromium slag containing Al2O3, Cr2O3, Na2O and K2O. As Na2O and K2O were evaporable at high temperature, the soda content in the synthesized material decreased significantly.
