Abstract: In order to characterize the surface morphology of different kinds of the interfacial transition zone (ITZ) in concrete quantitatively, the fractal dimension was introduced and calculated by the covering projection method. The results show that the surface fractal dimension of the interfacial transition zone in concrete morphology is in the range of 2 to 3, and the correlation coefficients of linear regression analysis are greater than 0.95,and strong correlation indicates that the selected surface of interfacial transition zone morphology has obvious fractal characteristics.
